FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Will I be able to use the photos I take at THRIVE in my portfolio? Yes! Absolutely. While planning THRIVE, we are very intentional about creating shoots that will build our attendees’ portfolios. We have some of the best vendors in the southeast coming together to create something stunning for our attendees.
Will we sleep at the Lullwater House? Yes! We are so excited about gathering everyone in one place not only for instruction, but also for creating an environment to encourage new friendships that last far beyond the workshop. Space at Lullwater is limited and rooms will be given on a first come first serve basis. Based on the different room options, attendees will receive an email with a list of rooms/beds to choose from with different pricing options. ($50-250) Again, beds will be secured for those who claim a room and pay first.
Do we have to stay at the Lullwater House? Definitely not. While in a dream world everyone would stay together, we understand that each of us have different needs. If an attendee isn’t planning on staying at Lullwater, no worries! We are happy to provide other lodging options for anyone who is interested.
How are the instructional classes set up? We will have a total of 5 instructional sessions, each session covering a different topic. We will break up into small groups and rotate from speaker to speaker. We feel that by breaking up into smaller groups we create a more intimate environment where attendees feel more comfortable discussing topics and asking questions.
What is the cost of a Thrive ticket and what does it include? The THRIVE investment is $975. The ticket covers the cost of the sessions at the Lullwater House, all meals, Sunday night dinner party/social, design and payment for all expenses needed for both styled shoots, one-on-one instruction, detail station, new portfolio images, head shots, and instruction on multiple topics. Room fees will range from $50-250.
Why aren’t we having dinner Monday night before we leave? Based on the feedback from last year’s workshop, attendees liked the option to leave right after the bridal shoot. We wanted to keep Monday night open for those who may want to get on the road sooner than later. We also thought that some attendees may want to have dinner in downtown Highlands before heading home. #meeeee
Can I submit my images to blogs and magazines? Yes, and we hope that you do! We will have a sign up sheet for attendees to choose where they want to submit. We will organize this in a way so that everyone gets a fair shot at getting their work published.
Will you talk about film photography? Yes! While we will cover many photography topics (finding good light, posing, telling a story with your work, editing techniques, styling, etc) I will share why I shoot film and what it means to me. This workshop welcomes and encourages both formats of photography, digital and film, and I’m excited to talk about why I love both.
Who will be taking our head shots? Shauna 🙂
You can register and buy your ticket here.
*registration closes Septmeber 12th*
“I honestly loved every minute of the workshop! I know that surveys are kind of pointless without some constructive criticism, but everything was truly wonderful and more than I expected!”
