I'm so glad you've stopped by. I'm Shauna, a fine art photographer who is passionate about love stories, shooting film and helping other creatives thrive in their calling. I've enjoyed story telling my entire life but it wasn't until my husband gifted me a camera after the birth of our first son (15 years ago!) that I realized I could finally tell a story that would last forever.
My first calling before I fell in love with photography was teaching. I have a Bachelor's degree in Education and spent 4 rewarding years in the classroom. Now, all these years later, I am thrilled that my two callings have collided.
Over the last decade I have been on a quest to create meaningful client relationships, beautiful photographs that stand the test of time and a business that is profitable and sustainable. As a self-taught photographer and business owner I have learned so much on this journey. I want to share all of that with you! A true ENFP (the Encourager) here– I find purpose in helping others be successful. I want to help you.
I have been teaching photographers since 2016 and would love to come along side you and help you build the business you've been dreaming of.

After photographing hundreds of weddings and family sessions over the last 10+ years, I’ve learned so much (mostly the hard way, let's be real). I would love to help you skip all of the mistakes I've made so that you can thrive in your calling.
This mentorship process begins with a simple conversation between the two of us. I want to know everything; what drives you, how you started your business, what sets you apart and the things you struggle with.
It is my goal to come alongside you and encourage you every step of the way.

The first thing I'll do to kickstart the process is have you complete a Questionnaire that I have created. You will be asked a series of thought provoking self-reflection type questions that will aid me in determining exactly what we need to focus for you specifically and how I can best serve you as a mentor.

Once you have completed the Questionnaire, together we will formulate an individualized plan that will equip you with the confidence and knowledge you need to elevate your business so that you can book your dream clients.
After we've identified the key components you want to focus on most, during your three in-person or Zoom meetings we will create an action plan and begin working through those items. It's during that time that I will give you advice and direction. We’ll get to know one another, talk about the ins and outs of what it takes to run your business well and I'll answer any questions you might have along the way.
3 meetings
A huge part of the learning process is having a hands-on experience where you can practice all the things you've learned during our time together.
After we've completed your three meetings, together we will determine what in-person learning setting would be best for you and your goals moving forward. A few options would be: shadow me at a wedding, one-on-one editing guidance, instagram planning, practicing shooting film, shadow me at an engagement session, etc.

For those who are interested, I will be offering an additional opportunity to elevate your business by providing you with headshots specific to your brand direction.
Together we will plan, style and execute a headshot session for you that tells your brand story. These headshots will be great content for your website and social media platforms, ultimately helping you attract and book your ideal client.

While I plan to be your advocate from now until forever, the structured portion of the mentorship lasts 2-3 months.
how long does a mentorship last
While it's hard to put a timeframe on our meetings, they will typically last about an hour. I want to ensure we have ample time together!
how long are the meetings?
I request a $600 deposit before our first meeting. The remaining balance will be due after our first meeting.
